Hummingbird Healthcare was founded in 2021 by Credentialed Mental Health Nurse Sandra Topp.

Sandra has worked in Healthcare for over 12 years, with a career spanning across 3 states: New South Wales, Northern Territory and now Queensland.

Starting her Nursing career in 2009, in 2016 Sandra became recognised as dual-specialised in Neonatal Intensive Care and Mental Health Nursing, with Public and Private Hospitals, community settings and also corporate work included in her portfolio thus far.

Postgraduate qualifications include:

Master of Human Nutrition

Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma, in Mental Health

Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing

Notable career highlights so far have included being a Hospital based Research lead in the use of docosahexaenoic acid to reduce bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants 29 weeks’ gestation, as well as being a crisis support counsellor for Open Arms, a Nationally recognised counselling service for veterans and their families. Additionally, Sandra is also very proud to offer Bulk Billed counselling via Medicare with a GP referral, which shows her commitment to ensuring healthcare is accessible to all. This includes both Mental health promotion/treatment and Pregnancy specific care.

With an emphasis on providing outstanding holistic healthcare Hummingbird Healthcare seeks to revolutionise the way we see healthcare as a human right, regardless of income, education level, health literacy, language barrier or cultural background.
